San Antonio Approves Water Rate Hike
In a controversial move, the San Antonio City Council approved a measure to structure water rates that favor conservation. "The new rate structure reduces rates for lower water use while raising water rates for higher water use. Ninety-three percent of all residential customers, for example, never use more than 17,000 gallons per month in water. The goal is to save 1.4 billion gallons of water annually by encouraging conservation." (San Antonio Business Journal)
